Dear Family,
Can you imagine your life without the devil (the enemy) touching you, afflicting, or messing about with whatever is yours? Can you imagine a life where it is “devil” free?
For many who are believers in Christ, it might seem unconceivable but that is exactly where your Father in heaven have lifted you. 1 John 5:18 makes the point: “we know that whoever is born of God does not sin…and the wicked one does not touch him.” As a child of God – born of God, the wicked one does not touch you. You and all that is yours is out of bounds for the wicked one. Jesus – your Big Brother and Lord – has destroyed the works of the devil as it pertains to your life. (1 John 3:8)
In the Old Testament, Solomon exemplified a life and perhaps, a nation without the influence, attack etc. of the devil. He testified: “But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence.” (1 Kings 5:4). The root meaning of “neither adversary” is “there is no devil nor his works”. That is a statement to ponder for an Old Testament covenanted person. How much more we under the new covenant.
Believe the truth of God’s word. The devil cannot touch you unless you give him the permission; unless you come into agreement with the devil through fear, deception, lies, falsehood etc. He will look for access, but access is denied by default over your life and all that is yours except you grant the access. Do not ever grant him access. Jesus did not grant him access neither should you.
Repeat this to yourself: “the wicked one cannot touch me because I am born of God”.
